Finding Her Way Back: How One Entrepreneur Reclaimed Her Story & Confidence
I love that I get the opportunity to truly see my clients—who they are, what makes them unique, and what drives them at their core. It’s a deeply heartfelt process, but there’s also a sharp strategic edge to it. My job isn’t just to listen—it’s to help them shape the most powerful legacy story that will move them forward with confidence.
So let me tell you about a brilliant entrepreneur—a marketing pro who had built a successful business, then took a step back to be fully present with her kids. Coming back into the business world, she felt disconnected from her skills, her voice, and even her own confidence. She knew she had the experience, but something felt off.
Now, I could see the truth - she was still a beast. But she needed to do her own deep dive. That’s where the Work in Purpose Incubator came in.
Unlocking What Was Always There
From the start, she described the process as natural and easy—like unlocking doors that had been waiting to be opened. The big moments of clarity came from two core exercises I always include in the incubator:
✨ Ikigai:
Mapping out her deeper purpose as it relates to what she loves, what she is good at, what she can get paid to do, and what the world needs.
What I love about this exercise is that it changes as we do (revisiting every couple of years helps you stay centred). But even so, it always reflects certain key beliefs around how we slot into the world as our authentic selves.
You can't hide behind work that you aren't good at and that you don't love. You also can't dive head first into a project you love but that won't pay the bills.
My client took this all on with a really grounded approach (she's like that).
Her reflection at the end was that it reconnected her with why she started this journey in the first place. Which was to work with small business owners who were offering services and products that had heart. A key decision point for the future being: no more corporates that don't see the value in making a difference.
✨ Core Values:
Getting super clear on what she stands for, what she loves, and what she’s ready to leave behind.
We look as far back as childhood because sometimes our values loose a little joy as we get older. We also look at big moments in life and how those may shape values. Then I went away and crafted some creative, personable statement she could use as her anchor moving forward.
No more buzzwords from Google that everyone uses (transparency, loyalty, trust, integrity). She now has key phrases and words she can inject into all her communications. From marketing, to emails, and even speeches and pitches.
“I had quite a few ‘aha moments’—the same themes kept coming up, and I could see my story coming together in a way that made complete sense.”
Confidence, Clarity & a Story That Sticks
The Work In Purpose incubator isn’t just about self-reflection—it’s about turning insights into action. By the end, she walked away with:
✔️ A clear brand narrative she can use on LinkedIn, her website, and in pitches.
✔️ A huge boost in confidence, knowing exactly how to talk about what she does and why it matters.
✔️ A renewed sense of purpose, no longer second-guessing herself or her next steps.
Why This Work Matters
I’ve spent years working with C-suite leaders, entrepreneurs, and ambitious women who’ve spent so long compartmentalising themselves at work that they feel disconnected from their own success. That’s not sustainable. It leads to burnout, frustration, and feeling like you’re constantly proving yourself instead of owning your space.
This client’s journey was a reminder of why I do this work. It’s not just about storytelling—it’s about helping women lead in a way that feels natural, powerful, and fulfilling.
If you’re feeling disconnected from your own story, let’s change that.
The real shift happens when you learn how to strategically lean into a story that feels right AND makes you stand out/feel confident. Armed with the legacy story we create together, you can start the process of building success that actually aligns with who you are.
The Work In Purpose Incubator isn't just a moment in time for self-reflection. It's the start of a lifelong process where you tap into your authentic narrative over and over again. It becomes a mantra, a toolkit for making decisions with confidence and clarity. A legacy story is way for you to be successful without loosing track of who you are.
